Week 8-9: Halves, Spring Break & GDC
Team Ako has been out of school last two weeks for spring break and GDC. Before that we also had our halves presentation during Week 7. We had playthroughs with EA guests and they provided us with some feedback too. We also attended GDC and got to listen to a couple of talks that were relevant to what we are doing here. It was fascinating to know that there are people who are also working to make things similar to what we have been working on.
Halves
For Halves,as we aimed for, we managed to complete the running of our entire tech pipeline of combining the AR and Voice. We had a prototype that was playable without much developer interruption. Here is a video of our presentation from halves:
And here is a demo of our game playthroughs:
We had some feedback from our playtesters that we would like to share and consider for our work after halves:
We plan to address many of these issues as a polish feature after Halves.
Like Ako, at GDC
This time at GDC, we found many people and studios working on projects that had interests that coincided with our project. Here are the speakers and descriptions of these talks. We aren’t sure which of these will go up on YouTube’s free channel, but they should be up in the GDC Vault soon.
We learned a lot of interesting approaches to problem solving and ideas we could implement from these talks.
