This week, FeelsBot began to enter production as we fleshed out most of our story and began creating assets! Brian spent much of the week writing the script, revising with faculty and team feedback. We are also trading the name of our project from “Spirit Machine” to “Left Unsaid” for the time being.
There were also several meetings regarding the mechanics of our “spirit machine” and how it will work while still teaching the player how to navigate the narrative. In order to solve this, we decided to make a paper prototype!
Justin continued researching the ins and outs of Unreal and made a prototype of our listening mechanic with mouse integration, meaning we could adequately test picking things up to listen to them without hand controllers!
Ross began making various models for our world, including some retro furniture and stuffed bunny, which is going to be an integral piece of the story as of now!
Wendy was absent the beginning of the week due to a conference back in Pittsburgh, however she managed to update our branding and assist with creating our cardboard prototype!
Next week, Justin will be absent so we will not be able to move forward technically, so we hope to continue with level design, paper prototyping and model creation. Next Wednesday is also quarters presentations, so we will be preparing for that at the beginning of the week!
