Updates and Changes

— based on half presentation and playtest

With halves finished, we turned out focus back to our game development. Through presentation on Oct 30th, we got plenty of good feedback and comments from faculties which let us know we are definitely on the right track and we clearly know our client and goals. And there are also something confusing them which reflect our team needs more feedback includes both visual and sound effects. One of the faculty member wondered if the game shows more visual richness, more reward for success. Based on that, the focus for artist this week was on the content of winning page. As we can see below:

Besides, the Playtest Day here at the ETC on Oct. 31 is the perfect chance to clue us environment setting. Students feel excited to play this game and at the same time they hope to see dynamic environment, like different kinds of enemies and mother ship. So we updated the environment, added the trails for spaceship and did two types of enemy, the changes not only present on visual image but also own different health information. (There are Updates of Enemies, Shield of Defender’s Skill by Using Finger-gesture and Environment Setting on TV Screen with UI on it)

What’s more, by doing playtest for normal students, we realized how different it is between these two groups, our target audience who has social behavior problem and the regular kids who are good at talking. And we figure out that we’d better encourage players by detailed level design instead of forcing them to communicate. So we made a three weeks’ schedule for whole team and also for each person, which supervise us to finish game in time with a great qualification.
