Week 8 Newsletter – Spring 2014
Weekly Newsletter 8!
Monday we had our sprint planning meeting. We started getting all the backlog items together and reassessing some of them to be sure we were heading in the right direction. Coming off quite a successful previous two weeks, we felt like we could get a lot done in the coming sprint.
We sat and managed through the tasks we chose, creating subtasks as we moved through. This allowed for us to allocate times to each task and move to our new real scrum board! This is a change to trello which we used as a digital scrum board.
We started the week by merging a lot of the code as having four programmers always creates for some coordination. The code was cleaned and merged which actually took faster than we initially thought; seems like we have some very lean programmers.
Other programmers have been working on the generating of points, and should be done by the end of this weekend. That’s always unknown in the programming world, and we may need some adjustment for memory in time coming.
3D art and 2 UI is starting to come together, and soon we should be able to put a lot of it together. This is going to really help leading up to halves, giving us some indicators for the users to get a full game running! The tests will soon be really important to us.
Wireframes for this UI first need to be tweaked and our designer is first going to finish these before moving on, saving him the task of changing already made art.
One seriously important piece of information is that we need to get our build into the app store. Getting the build available for the app store is a huge plus as testing will be many times easier than going through Testflight.
Well next week is spring break, then on to GDC! We’ll see you after!
