Created by Carnegie Mellon University in 2003, the Robot Hall of Fame recognizes excellence and landmark achievements in robotics technology worldwide and honors the fictional and real robots that have inspired and made breakthrough accomplishment in robotics.
A jury of scholars, researchers, writers, designers and entrepreneurs is assembled to nominate real and fictional robots for recognition. There are four categories of robots: Education & Consumer, Entertainment, Industrial & Service, and Research. After the nomination process is completed, the finalists in each category will be determined and email instructions for voting will be distributed to determine inductees. The general public will be invited to participate in the selection of final inductees by casting their vote for robots nominated by Robot Hall of Fame jurors. |
