Abode is a semester long project at Carnegie Mellon University Entertainment Technology Center (ETC). Our project this semester is focused on the design question of different methods to facilitate invitation & entry, and exvitation & exit – how to make these experiences feel comfortable and authentic in VR.
We are working in conjunction with Jessica Hammer as part of a multi-semester project called VR Home, which seeks to explore the potential of virtual home spaces as an extension of the physical home, and our final compilation of prototypes will be shown to Verizon, and our research data will be used to further the overall mission of the VR Home project.
