ANALYSIS
With our quiz system, we help find weak branches of each student so that they can know where they need to improve.
REMEDIATION
Based on analysis, we will offer each student an opportunity for remediation, which means that they can recover part of the grades that they lost by learning again.
About Architek
College courses often have instructor videos that can be played before classes, or that must be played in distance learning offerings. Students may not be playing or paying attention to such videos. Often, instructors default to giving quizzes to test whether the video is watched and understood. We are looking into improving quiz-based strategies for fostering learning. Team ArchiTek is creating an interactive online quiz system for students in GIS course offerings of Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University. We are aiming for not just a quiz, but also a system that can enhance learning with technology. We will investigate techniques such as remediation systems, interactive multimedia quiz systems, badging, and gamification strategies for self-motivation. Our work allows students to learn by creating questions for each other online. ArchiTek seeks to enhance knowledge acquisition and self-motivation with technology.

This week was mostly finishing up more prototypes, and coming up with ideas for new prototypes.
