About Our Project

August Wilson wrote nine famous plays taking place in Pittsburgh's Hill District in different decades of the 20th century. This app allows you to visit the Hill in two of those decades.

Mobile Game

August Wilson Cycle is an Android mobile game
for high school students and people who are interested in the history and culture of Hill District.

Interactive Storytelling

To teach students the historical background of August Wilson's work, we developed a highly immersive storytelling experience.

Time Travel to The Past

Keeping true to the nature surrounding Pittsburgh and Hill District, it will transport guests to a different time period and place encountering the Hill of past and present.

Em Tyminski is a costume and character designer with a background in theatrical design and art. For Em, creating characters is a part of telling a larger story that ultimately connects with the audience, whether it be through a theatre, film, video games, or animation.

Yifan (Gloria) Deng

UI & UX Designer

Yifan (Gloria) Deng is a designer who focuses on user experience and creative products. She is an empathy problem-solver who focuses on making life better. She is a player who merges entertainment elements in design works. She has strong skills in concept generation, user research, quick prototyping for VR/AR product and team-working.

Zoltan Jing

Zoltan Jing

Programmer

Zoltan is a programmer. With a background in Software Engineering, he is interested in game development and computer graphics. In this project, he will be working as a programmer that assemble all the assets, control the user flow and implement the final application.

Brendan Valley

Sound Designer

Brendan Valley is a game designer with experience in sound design, programming, and 2D art. He specializes in Unity and GameMaker, but also has experience in engine development in C++ and Java.
