Week 12
The team had their playtests with AHN nurses WOOHOO! This week, the team is producing development materials and conducting playtests.
AHN playtest
AHN nurses are our target audience. Playtesting with them give us valuable feedback, and thank you for all the AHN people who supported us.
During the playtests, here are some insights we discovered from the playtest:
- AHN nurses are naive to game elements. Keeping the control simple is a good choice. Therefore, adding a tutorial at the beginning is very important.
- AHN nurses understand the content and education message without problems. However, because they are too familiar with the nurse’s role, they will evaluate the experience from a nurse’s perspective, instead of the virus’s perspective.
- The storyline is predictable. The audience is expecting more surprise.
- Endings need more explanation and polish. The endings seem too sudden and nurses do not quite understand why they lose or win.
Rendering in Maya
We finally figured out a good plan to solve our rendering problem, and thanks for Sitong, Carl, Scott and Steve’s efforts.
We are rendering in low quality using all teammates’ computers. Once we render out, we will fix issues in the renderings. Eventually, we will use professional rendering service for a better quality.
