Week 13 was a quick but busy week for the team. This was the week of Thanksgiving break, so we all took some well-deserved breaks starting on Wednesday. Our focus for our two work days was playtesting our equalization prototype, preparing our website and documentation to send out, and brainstorming our plans for the final few weeks.

We playtested our EQ prototype with two industry professionals and a few of our novice musicians to get feedback. Since our development phase of our project is over, this information will be used to populate our documentation to inform future endeavors in this space of what worked well and did not. To summarize our findings, we feel that our implementation of EQ fell short due to an overload of visual information for the player. We attempted to utilize the three dimensional space of virtual reality, but it ended up making the tool too complex for a naïve guest to digest. It strayed away from our goal of making our experiences simpler than a DAW.

Looking forward to our final weeks of the project, our sole focus to finishing up all documentation to send out to the community. We also decided from the tech end to make our entire project open source on GitHub. We decided that opening up the project to allow future developers to add their own music and directly tweak the codebase we have built is the fastest way to allow them to pick up exactly where we left off.
