Week 13
With one week left until soft opening, we’re implementing final details to our experience.
On Monday, we met with our faculty advisors to discuss the feedback that we received last week (see Week 12 blog). Given the limited time that we have left in the semester they suggested:
- Stick with the current iconography and to look at other UI animations to see how we can make it more intuitive. While we would love to implement some of Christine Barnes’s suggestions from last week, we do not have the time to implement and test.
- No randomization of interactions, given that the experience will never truly be random. Guests still perform the same tasks, and the order does not affect the impact of the experience.
Otherwise, we are continuing to work on implementing our long list of changes from the ETC Playtest Day, as well as feedback from last week. These include:
- Modifying textures: carrot, egg, bunny burrow, and flowers
- Animations for: tree shake, picking up carrot, picking up acorn, picking up bone, dropping carrot, dropping acorn, dropping bone, and water shaking off animation for all of the characters
- Implementing audio cues: nest wobble, egg drop, egg crack, dog bark, dog whimper, sunny day ambiance, and fixing rainbow sound
- Background: add tree for nest and wind chime, move bunny burrow closer, add lighting to neighborhood windows?
- Programming: adjust sign iconography animation and timing, trigger happy animations immediately when under umbrella, lighting for houses, change ending pacing to birds flying off + background change at the same time, and add filter for projection blend
We’ve also worked on finishing the video trailer for this week, and starting to archive all of our media for the semester. Check out the newly updated media section of our website!
Sorry no new photos this week… but I guess you’ll just have to wait for the final debut…
Until then, be kind,
