9/15 – 9/19

What We Did:

This week we managed to jump on prototyping our biggest risks. Additionally, we finished the final touches for our logo, half-sheet, and poster, and we are very proud of our end result. We have the website up at running though we are still making it more functional and aesthetically pleasing.

From a technical standpoint, Shirley has been working on text to speech, Wei has been working on navigation API processing, and Mohit has been researching and answering some core technical questions for our project along with providing assistance to the other tasks.

We also took a field trip to Epson’s research division on Wednesday and got a chance to chat with Ray Hsu and Yoshi who were able to answer a number of questions about the device and will surely prove to be a valuable resource.

Challenges:

We are still trying to determine the type of the relationship that this companion has with you. Specifically, we are discussing what would some meaningful interactions be when the companion is not actively leading you. We have some ideas, but we really want to explore them before we commit to one.

Our Plan For Next Week:

We plan to integrate our our three modules together and present our product at quarters! We hope to get some feedback that will help us sort between the options we are currently pursuing. We will also continue to be building the core functionality of our program.
