For this week, our main focus is on the idle game prototype. During the brainstorming, we first picked the design pillars, and then researched on relative games like walkr.
After the discussion, we decided to go with the idea of building a planet. Players will start with basic gold on an empty planet, where they could plant seed and wait for the harvest over time, and pedalling could speed up this process. When the plants are fully grown, players can sell them for gold, which could be used to buy higher rank seed or buy decorations for their planet. Below is the framework our ui designer created for this prototype:
For the input part, we can now read data from the sensor through the application it offers, but it will need more time for us to figure out how to use that data in Unity. As for gameplay, we currently have completed the process of adding and harvesting plants on the planet. Below is the demo video:
In the next week we will continue working on adding more content to this idle game prototype, including some decorations for the planet. We will also do another round of brainstorming for our third prototype. Besides, our programmers will keep setting up the sensors with Unity.
