Week 1 was a new and exciting experience for most of us, its the first project for Orry, Eleanor, Elodie and Bora, as well as the last project for Dan and Chris, for the first timers we weren’t sure what to expect, and for the seniors they would have to juggle between project work and preparing for the work life.
Our first meeting on Monday was a very short one, as we spent most of our time setting and reorganizing the project room, as well as people rushing to and fro main campus for electives. We also set up weekly meetings with our advisers John Dessler and Salvador Barerra.
Our next formal meeting was on Wednesday, where we discussed roles, how we felt about the project, both among ourselves and with the advisers Orry the producer also contacted the clients and set up a meeting on Friday.
We also went through a brainstorming warm up, where we came up with our team name and discussed about issues we wanted to raise at the client meeting. Our client meeting on Friday was very fruitful, we eased most of our concerns and set up another weekly meeting with them.
The big revelation we had there was that there will be a much larger collaboration component with Wanda and Don, our clients, who will be developing a curriculum in line with our product, aiming to educate preschooler about safe online practices. We were also extremely excited to know that we may be travelling to the FBI headquarters in DC, for a contextual inquiry session with the subject matter experts in the the Cyber-Crimes Unit.
