Hello! It is already week 10!
We had our halves presentation and shared with the faculty and students what we have been doing so far and what we will be doing for the remaining time! Here is the video.
As shown in the video, we as a group and our clients collaboratively decided to develop “Cozmo World” idea as our final deliverable. Before we really dive into development phase, we wanted to meet with our clients and ask questions and confirm about this idea so that we could have a clear vision on what we wanted to achieve.
Therefore, this Thursday, we had another client meeting with Troy and Kaiser and really clarified the vision that we will be moving into. Here are the questions that we asked and notes from our meeting.
- What about Uber idea did you see the potential?
Having an experience where users and Cozmo cooperate to increase Uber task together.
Autonomous ecosystem where Cozmo can “idle” without user interference.
- What do you think about customizable world?
If the positions of different buildings/routes are customizable, it can increase the replayability.
- Multi-Cozmo experience?
The reason behind this need to be very strong.
Why Uber idea (what is exciting about this idea)?
- Negotiation between users and Cozmo to strategically increase the efficiency of a task.
- Most of the existing current activities with Cozmo require full attention of users to be engaged, and there is a need/gap for experiences where Cozmo can have “idle mode” and users can interfere whenever they want to.
Miscellaneous
- There could be external screen to convey more complicated information, but the platform needs to be user-friendly and intuitive. (ex. Touch screen)
- “Crazy Taxi” (game) as an reference.
Summary
- We will be building an autonomous ecosystem of Cozmo where users can just watch OR interfere to bring an impact on the system with mechanics to bring out Cozmo’s character.
Next week, we will be finalizing on what the environment and theme will be for Cozmo World and come up with paper prototype for our core mechanic of the experience so that we can playtest on Saturday for ETC Playtest day.
