Our very own Director of Academic Outreach, Extension, and Engagement John Balash went on KDKA yesterday to talk about the pinball project ETC students have been working on as part of Let’s Play Pittsburgh, a citywide initiative encouraging people of all ages to reconnect through play. This hybrid physical-digital pinball experience that merges motion-tracked gameplay with a constantly evolving digital surface — reimagining the static arcade staple as something dynamic, immersive, and interactive. Developed in partnership with Penn State New Kensington and their Digital Foundry, this project is more than just fun — it’s part of a broader effort to bring creative energy and community engagement back to a once-industrial corridor.
