Charlie Forster started as the Entertainment Technology Center’s (ETC) administrative coordinator in October 2024, shortly after graduating from Oberlin College with a BA in Creative Writing and a minor in Hispanic Studies. His duties at the ETC are purchasing, expense reports, event logistics, and occasionally muscle. He is also a CMUSafe ambassador, coordinating with Environmental Health and Safety to respond to emergencies.
One of his favorite things to do at the ETC is to test student work and witness its development throughout a semester. He is inspired every day by the innovative energy and enterprise innate to the department.
Before coming to the ETC, Charlie worked at summer camps, as a mailroom attendant at Oberlin, in food service, and for the Pittsburgh Pirates as an usher at PNC Park. Each of these positions taught him skills that he applies to his execution of the support tasks that help keep the ETC’s creative gears turning.
Charlie was born and raised in Pittsburgh’s Regent Square neighborhood. Outside of the office, you can find him playing ultimate Frisbee, watching his favorite sports teams, or listening to music. He also enjoys reading, writing, and learning about new topics on YouTube and Wikipedia.
