City of Stars

City of Stars is a CMU ETC project that aims to utilize mixed reality in fostering familiarity with the constellation of diverse individuals who’ve put Pittsburgh on the map. During the semester, we’ll be building a supplemental app for a future walk of fame located in downtown Pittsburgh, employing image recognition technology to bring each honoree’s entry to life on guests’ mobile devices. While many walks of fame experiences solely involve encountering and reading plaques (which are often text-heavy or permanent), our app will allow for a higher level of interaction, helping guests create memories that can be revisited again and again upon returning home.
