Medical simulation is having a trans-formative impact on health care, especially experiential learning. For decades manikins have been used to teach the examinations of the heart and lungs, but there is no manikin for teaching abdominal examination. Our client's collaboration team developed one, Abe, which is primarily a palpation tool. Teaching and learning palpation is still a real pedagogical challenge as it requires the right combination of knowledge, skills, and attitude.
MediSIM provides a 3D visually simulated interactive manikin with hologram superimposed on the Abe as well as the corresponding text, video and details of the viscera to help medical teachers and students in teaching and learning palpation.
