Spring 2026
Remnants is an immersive interactive installation developed for a 270° projection environment. Guests are invited to care for a responsive digital garden by interacting with gardening props placed throughout the space. The garden serves as a metaphor for people living with dementia, while each interaction represents moments of caregiving that highlight the attention, patience, and consistency required over the course of an illness.
The design emphasizes a calm, impressionist-inspired atmosphere where meaning is conveyed through embodied interaction rather than direct explanation. By blending narrative and physical props with a large-scale projected environment, the project aims to foster empathy for caregivers, raise awareness about dementia, and explore how tangible interfaces can deepen engagement within the CAVERN.
